Lucknow: Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding actors Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s upcoming mythological film “Adipurush” for “misrepresentation” of Ramayana, Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has commented, saying that the film must be corrected before it is released. is released.

Speaking to ANI, Keshav Maurya said: “First of all I want to wish everyone a very happy Dussehra, I haven’t seen the teaser of ‘Adipurush’ yet, but in any case movies that hurt the religious feelings should not be supported, that’s wrong. It must be corrected and presented properly.”

“If you hurt the religious feelings, all believers will not accept such things. And I also believe that if such a film is made, it should be corrected before it is presented to the public,” he added. . Earlier, during a conversation with ANI, BJP spokesperson Malavika Avinash said: “I am saddened by the fact that the director is much less investigating Valmiki’s Ramayana, Kamba Ramayana or Tulsidasa’s Ramayana, or the myriad interpretations of Ramayana that available across the board as far as Thailand where they do wonderful performances of the Ramayana the least he could have done is research our own movies there are so many Kannada movies Telugu movies Tamil movies showing what Raavana looked like.”

“He could have looked up NT Rama Rao or Dr Rajkumar in ‘Bhookailasa’ or one of these great actors, SV Ranga Rao in ‘Sampoorna Ramayana’ to understand what Raavana looked like. The Raavana in the photo I see floating around is a man who doesn’t look Indian, who has blue eye makeup and wears leather jackets. This is our history they represent; they can’t do it under the guise of creative freedom,” she continued.

Aided by Om Raut the film stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan and Sunny Singh in the lead roles.Raut made this film with the dream of bringing the story of `Ramayan` to the silver screen, but since the first teaser of Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Adipurush’ have been unanimously negatively reacted from various quarters.

People are largely disappointed because of the film’s poor VFX and the unrealistic appearance of several characters, including Saif’s Raavan. Seeing Saif with short spiky hair, long beard and kajal eyes, several internet users have compared the actor’s look in the film to Alauddin Khilji’s instead of Raavana. ‘Adipurush’ is produced by T Series and Retrophiles.

It is slated to hit theaters on January 12, 2023, in IMAX and 3D. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Om, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair, the film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
