Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger receive the Nobel Prize in Physics 2022

New Delhi: The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences decided on Tuesday (October 4) to award the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics to Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger for their experiment with entangled photons, declaring the violation of propriety and pioneering quantum information science.

Alain Aspect from France, John F. Clause from the United States of America and Anton Zeilinger from Austria will now share the Nobel Prize in Physics worth 10 million Swedish kronor.

Speaking at the press conference, Anton Zeilinger said: “This award is an encouragement to young people – the award would not be possible without more than 100 young people who have worked with me over the years.”

The official Twitter handle of the Nobel Prize wrote that the development of the experimental tools by the 2022 laureates has laid the foundation for a new era of quantum technology.

“Intensive research and development is underway to use the special properties of individual particle systems to build quantum computers, improve measurements, build quantum networks and establish secure quantum encrypted communications,” the Nobel Prize tweeted.
