Alert Ration Card Holders! Govt cancels more than 2 crore cards, here’s WHY

New Delhi: Central and state governments provide free or subsidized rations for the economically weaker segment of society. There is a major benefit to ration card holders in the run up to the holiday season as the government is also considering extending this scheme for the next 3 months. But in recent days in parliament, data was presented by the government that from 2017 to 2021, duplicate, ineligible and false ration cards of 2 crores 41 lakh have been canceled in the country.

Now the state government has started verifying the card. The UP government has also taken action against this.

Uttar Pradesh Food and Supplies Commissioner Markday Shahi has issued instructions to all Collector and District Supply Officers. Speaking on behalf of Food Commissioner Anil Kumar Dubey, the information provided by beneficiaries continues to change from time to time.

In this regard, complaints are received from time to time about the inclusion of ineligible names on voucher cards. For ineligible cardholders, the campaign will be conducted under the National Food Security Act 2013. Verification of Antyodaya and eligible household ration holders will be completed within 30 days. Ration cards are issued to eligible people instead of the ineligible beneficiaries.

If you have earned 100 square meters plot/flat or house with your own income, four-wheeler/tractor, gun license, family income of more than two lakhs in the village and three lakhs per year in the city, then such people should get their ration card in Tehsil En will have to hand in at the DSO office.
