‘Appu lives in the hearts of millions,’ PM Modi tweets for Puneeth Rajkumar

New Delhi: Late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar’s dream project ‘Gandhada Gudi’ is fast approaching completion and the creators released the trailer on Sunday. The docu-drama is scheduled for October 28.

The docu-drama, directed by Amoghavarsha, shows the late movie star’s last big screen. Puneeth Rajkumar, affectionately known as Appu, died of a massive heart attack on October 29, 2021, last year. He was 46 years old.

Following the unveiling of the Gandhada Gudi trailer which lasts about two minutes, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar tagged the Prime Minister and tweeted: “Namaste @narendramodi, Today is an emotional day for us as we release the trailer of #GandhadaGudi, a project that Appu is na is dear to your heart. Appu always cherished the interactions with you and would have loved to share it with you personally (sic).”

In response to Puneeth’s wife’s tweet, Prime Minister Modi tweeted: “Appu lives in the hearts of millions of people around the world. He was brilliantly personified, full of energy and blessed with unparalleled talent. #GandhadaGudi is a tribute to Mother Nature, the natural beauty and environment of Karnataka preservation. My best wishes for this endeavor (sic).”

Incidentally, Gandhada Gudi is the name of an iconic Kannada movie starring Puneeth’s father, the late Dr. Raj Kumar.
