BCCI shares heartwarming tweet to wish Jasprit Bumrah ‘Speedy Recovery’


New Delhi: India’s Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) on Twitter on Tuesday wished star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah a speedy recovery after the bowler was banned from the Indian cricket team’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad due to a back injury. BCCI shared the post via its Twitter handle, saying, “Quick recovery for our speedster.” The tournament starts from October 16. Team India will play its first match against Pakistan on October 16.

After being eliminated from the big event due to his unfortunate injury, the Indian top speed star said he was gutted. Bumrah was previously banned from the ongoing three-match T20I series between India and South Africa due to a back injury.

“I am sorry that I will not be part of the T20 World Cup this time, but I am grateful for the wishes, care and support I have received from my loved ones. As I recover, I will cheer the team on during their campaign in Australia,” Jasprit Bumrah tweeted on Tuesday.

In the coming days, BCCI will soon appoint Bumrah’s replacement in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup tournament. In the ICC competition, India is in Group 2 with Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa and two qualifiers.
