Cristiano Ronaldo is leaving? Manchester United star receives huge update ahead of winter transfer window

It looks like Cristiano Ronaldo’s woes at Manchester United will continue, and Portugal will reportedly stay with the Premier League side. According to ESPN, the 37-year-old has not yet found a suitable club, meaning he will remain with Manchester United until the end of the season when his contract expires. The former Real Madrid man had expressed his desire to leave during the summer transfer window after United failed to secure their Champions League qualification for the current season. But he failed to secure a move because there weren’t many suitors for him. This season Ronaldo has only scored one goal, namely in the Europa League, and he hardly appeared in the playing team of Erik ten Hag.

He was part of United’s recent 3-2 win in the Europa League against Omonia FC, but failed to score and also missed a nanny. Despite a shocking miss, he assisted Marcus Rashford as the England forward completed his brace. After the game, Ten Hag spoke about Ronaldo and said: “I think the first two” [shots he had produced] good saves from the keeper. He had a few chances, but also created a few chances. He was up for a good move and ran for the first goal with Marcus Rashford, so he had an impact in this game.”

During United’s press conference for the upcoming Premier League game with Everton, Ten Hag pointed out that his team had to be smarter and also dirty. “Yeah, nasty. I know what it means. I think we can progress that way too. Sometimes playing smarter too. We have too many bookings and some in the beginning I heard yes in the Premier League they will play hard “But I really wonder, we’re collecting so many bookings and I don’t understand. The first booking on Sunday, I really don’t understand,” he said.

“We want to play hard and we want to keep the game going and in the second minute it’s already a booking [Dalot on Grealish]. I think it’s a duel. It’s clearly a foul, but then you get a yellow card. And I also saw a lot of other bookings that made me think, ‘Okay, is that necessary?’ But I also bring it to the players. I have to hold the mirror [they have to look at themselves]that they have to play smart, but also play dirty,” he added.
