‘Duty letter’, not ‘love letter’: Delhi LG hits back at Arvind Kejriwal over ‘thoda chill karo’ comment


New Delhi: Days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal advised Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to “chill out a bit” after governor criticized Kejriwal-led government for focusing on “speech and marketing” and deviating of the Fundamental Public Interest, Saxena, on Friday, October 7, 2022, issued a 6-page letter accusing Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ministers of neglecting their constitutional duties and responsibilities in running Delhi.

The six-page letter came days after Delhi’s deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia, accused him of interfering with the functioning of the government of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and conducting “unconstitutional” investigations into its policies and actions. decisions.

Kejriwal tweeted two days ago: “LG sahib chides me daily, while my wife doesn’t. My wife hasn’t written me as many love letters as LG sahib in the past six months. Chill a little, LG sahib. Say to you too super boss that he needs to chill out a bit.’

In response to the LG’s latest letter, Kejriwal tweeted: “Another love letter arrived today.”

“I hope you will accept this message from me in the truest sense as a ‘letter of duty’ received from the guardian of Delhi, whom you call ‘letter of love,'” Saxena wrote in the letter.

In his six-page letter, Mr Saxena describes 11 decisions taken so far by the Delhi government that have caused tensions between the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and the Prime Minister.

Saxena accused the Kejriwal-led government of advertising, stating: “Your government operates on the basis of advertisements and speeches. and your colleagues have not only misled the people, but have also made unfounded personal accusations. Please take note of and refer to the baseless, misleading and nonsensical statements by Manish Sisodia.’

The LG further wrote: “I would like to remind you that the issues conveyed to you in the letter were the feelings of all ordinary citizens of Delhi and the issues were related to the administration. I or the people of Delhi have yet to has not received a satisfactory answer from you on those matters.”

Mr Saxena added that as Lieutenant Governor he had taken immediate and appropriate action against corruption, inaction and transparency in any government department or body. He claimed that he had been completely impartial and conscientious in discharging his constitutional responsibilities.

In response to Mr Sisodia’s demand for an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged 6,000 crore scam in the Delhi Municipal Corporation, the LG said, “A detailed report has been requested from the concerned authorities.”
