Emma Raducanu from Transylvania Open due to wrist injury

Britain’s Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the Transylvania Open due to a wrist injury, organizers of the WTA 250 event said Thursday.

Raducanu’s season has been plagued by a range of different injuries, ranging from blisters to side strains and hip and back problems. Last month, the 19-year-old was forced to stop during the Korea Open semifinals.

Raducanu, who won her first Grand Slam title at the US Open last year, was defeated by Daria Kasatkina on Tuesday in the first round of the WTA 500 event in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

She plummeted to 67th in the rankings from a career-high 10th in July.

The Transylvania Open will be held October 10-16 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
