‘Human sacrifice’ case: Kerala women brutally murdered in rituals of black magic, 3 arrested

Kochi (Kerala): In a bizarre case of alleged human sacrifice, two women were “brutally” murdered in black magic rituals in Pathanamthitta, Kerala, within 24 hours of going missing. Kochi Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju told ANI that three individuals, including a woman, were arrested who were suspected of luring and murdering the women, allegedly as human sacrifice in rituals of black magic, adding: “The killings were brutal, the women were missing within 24 hours. The manner of killing is indescribable.”

The official told ANI that the murders took place on June 6 and September 26, adding: “The murders took place within 24 hours of the two women disappearing.” Kadavanthra Police in Kochi registered the case after a missing woman report was filed in September. The arrested persons were identified as one Shafi and the husband-wife couple Bhagaval Singh and Laila.

“The prime suspect is Shafi who brought the women. His target was money. It is being investigated whether the accused Shafi approached more women for a ‘human sacrifice ritual,'” Nagaraju said. .”

In particular, the victims sold lottery tickets. Two dismembered bodies were found buried in the premises of a house in Pathanamthitta district, police said.

Union minister V Muraleedharan spoke to the Kerala government on Tuesday, claiming a “delayed response” from the state police, saying a member of the CPIM was involved in the incident.

The Union Minister tweeted: “Delayed response from Kerala police smells foul and reveals women are not safe in Kerala Is @pinarayivijayan Govt deliberately delaying it due to involvement of @CPIMKerala member? Disgusted that @CMOKerala remains a mother when two women are brutally murdered.”

Two dismembered bodies were found buried in the premises of a house in Pathanamthitta district, police said. “We believe the couple Bhagaval Singh and Laila made human sacrifices for economic prosperity,” the official said, adding that CCTV footage was instrumental in apprehending the accused.
