Ind Women vs Thai Women, Asia Cup 2022 Semi-Final: Shafali & Deepti Power India to final


The Indian women’s cricket team defeated Thailand Women by 74 runs to advance to the Asia Cup final on Thursday. While Thailand chased a total of 149 runs, Thailand collapsed and was able to score just 74 runs in 20 overs.

Thailand’s Naruemol Chaiwai and Nattaya Boochatham each scored 21 runs. Deepti Sharma played for India as she scalped three wickets and allowed only 7 runs.

After batting first, India scored 148 points with the help of Shafali Verma’s 42. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues made 36 and 27 respectively. For Thailand it was Sornnarin Tippoch’s turn as she won 24-3.

India will now face the winner of the second semi-final between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Short scores: India: 148 for 6 in 20 overs (Shafali Verma 42, Harmanpreet Kaur 36; Sornnarin Tippoch 3/24).

Thailand: 74 for 9 in 20 overs (Naruemol Chaiwai 21, Nattaya Boochatham 21; Deepti Sharma 3/7).
