Karwa Chauth 2022: Karwa Chauth is a Hindu festival celebrated by married Hindu women. The festival is popularly celebrated in northern and western India. According to the Hindu calendar, Karwa Chauth falls on October 13 this year.

To celebrate the festival, married women fast and pray for the safety and longevity of their husbands. The women are not even allowed to drink water during the day. The fast is only over after seeing the moon. Women look at the moon first and then their husband’s face through a sieve to break the fast. Once all the rituals are completed, the husbands feed their wives with food.

Karwa Chauth is celebrated in the Kartika month on the fourth day after the full moon day, according to the Hindu calendar. The day falls on the chaturthi tithi of the dark fortnight in the Kartik month.

Karwa Maata is also worshiped on this day by married women to pray to her for the long life of their husbands.

Karwa Chauth 2022: Date

According to the Drik Panchang, Karwa Chauth falls on October 13 this year. The Chaturthi Tithi starts on October 13 at 1:59 AM and ends on October 14 at 3:08 AM.

Karwa Chauth 2022: Muhurati

According to the same Panchang, the puja should be performed between 5:54 PM and 7:09 PM. The times for married women to fast are from 6:20 am to 8:09 pm.

Karwa Chauth 2022: Moon Sighting

Then the moon is expected to rise at 8:09 PM. However, times may vary due to weather conditions.
