Katrina Inspired By ‘Ponniyin Selvan: 1’, Now Open To Southern Movies

New Delhi: Katrina Kaif, who is currently waiting for the release of her upcoming horror comedy ‘Phone Bhoot’, has shared that she would like to make movies from South India.

The actress has made some films in the south, such as the 2004 Telugu release ‘Malliswari’ and ‘Allari Pidugu’, which came out in 2005, and the Malayalam film ‘Balram vs. Tharadas’.

Continuing the southern shift of her future plans, Katrina told IANS, “If ever there is a script that is convincing enough and has strong character, language will not be a barrier for me. We have some phenomenal directors working in South India. to work. ”

She lavishly praised Mani Ratnam and his recent release, ‘Ponniyin Selvan: 1’. “The best and most recent example is Mani Ratnam sir’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan: 1’. What a great film, isn’t it? Such grandeur, beautiful frames and music. To see a film on such a large scale at this stage of his life to make proves the bravery of an iconic director.”

‘Phone Bhoot’, Katrina’s first film after her marriage to Vicky Kaushal, also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter. The film, produced by Excel Entertainment, will hit theaters on November 4, 2022.
