‘Make no mistake, Ashok Gehlot heading for rebellion’: BJP after Rajasthan CM praises Union minister

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed on Thursday (October 13, 2022) that Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is on the Congress “path of rebellion” and shared a video of him praising some of the Union minister’s decisions. Prahad Joshi.

“Make no mistake. Gehlot is on the path of rebellion. After inviting Gautam Adani, despite Rahul Gandhi’s ridicule, he now lauds Coal India and Minister Pralhad Joshi, for helping Rajasthan at critical times. This stands in stark contrast to congressional militancy,” said Amit Malviya, head of BJP’s IT department.

Malviya’s comments came after Coal India Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited to develop a solar energy project of 1190 MW generating capacity in Rajasthan, at an event attended by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Ashok Gehlot.

It is noteworthy that the three-time prime minister of Rajasthan has been an outspoken critic of the BJP, but his ties with the Congress leadership appeared to have strained after his loyalist MLAs recently held a separate meeting in Jaipur, in violation of the law. party directive for a meeting. of the legislative party.

Then it was believed that Gehlot will contest the Congress presidential poll with the tacit support of the Gandhi family, and a new leader will replace him at the helm in Rajasthan.

However, the turn of events has led the party leadership to urge Mallikarjun Kharge to contest the poll where Shashi Tharoor is also in contention, as tensions persist over Gehlot’s fate as prime minister.

The development took place in the run-up to the parliamentary elections in Rajasthan, which will take place in the second half of 2023.
