Mumbai International Airport strengthens security after bomb threat on IndiGo flight

Take a flight through Mumbai International Airport then remain ALERT passengers! Reach the airport well in advance of your scheduled flight time as earlier today, Mumbai International Airport received a warning that a bomb has been placed on an IndiGo plane. Although the warning turned out to be a hoax, security forces were put on alert after an email was received by officials claiming there was a bomb threat in one of the planes. An email was received at Mumbai airport on Saturday night stating that a bomb had been placed on Indigo flight number 6E 6045, bolstering security at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

“An email was received at Mumbai airport on Saturday evening stating that a bomb had been placed on Indigo flight number 6E 6045,” an official said. This flight would take off from Mumbai and land in Ahmedabad. It was checked after the email, but nothing was found on the run, Mumbai police said. However, the flight was delayed. Security forces are investigating the matter.

A similar incident occurred in August where a drunk man called a fake bomb to airport officials to prevent the Chennai-Dubai IndiGo flight from flying. The man took this step to prevent his relatives traveling on this plane from leaving the country.
