Nagarjuna Praises ‘PS-1’ Director Mani Ratnam, Says ‘The Movie Was Always His Dream’

Chennai: Telugu superstar Nagarjuna congratulated director Mani Ratnam and his entire unit of `Ponniyin Selvan: 1` by saying that the top director has proved with historical fiction what a master craftsman he always was.

At a press conference in Chennai, convened by the unit of his upcoming film ‘The Ghost’, which is called ‘Ratchan – The Ghost’ in Tamil, Nagarjuna said: “Before talking about my upcoming film, let me congratulate Mani Sir. ” Ponniyin Selvan’ had always been his dream. He had always talked about it with me a few times.”

The actor stated that the top director had proved what a master craftsman he has always been, saying: “I have such fond memories of working with him in ‘Geethanjali’ in 1988. I have seen his journey from work and what he has achieved.

“I want to congratulate Vikram, my dear brother Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha and of course AR Rahman. I want to congratulate them all on the beautiful artwork they have given us,” he added.

The actor said he was born and raised in Chennai before his father took him to Hyderabad and said every time he comes to Chennai it feels like coming home.
