PM Narendra Modi chairs the CSIR society meeting in Delhi today

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a meeting of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Society in Delhi today. All members of the CSIR Society are invited to the meeting. Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal and Jitendra Singh will attend the meeting.

The CSIR is a Society under the Ministry of Scientific and Industrial Research, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Prime Minister is the President of the Society. The CSIR Society is made up of leading scientists, industrialists and senior officials of science ministries. The Society meets annually to review CSIR activities and discuss future programs.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, CSIR’s research efforts are now mainly focused on green energy technologies, STI (science, technology and innovation) interventions to create employment and increase income levels in rural India.

The ministry’s statement said that strengthening self-reliance in all industrial sectors, facilitating infrastructure developments and developing critical scientific and technological human resources are also the mandate of CSIR. The research and development conglomerate uses artificial intelligence and machine learning platforms for its scientific activities.

CSIR has strengthened its commitment to industry, leading to increased partnerships and collaboration with industry in CSIR-funded projects. In addition to the PPP model, which is applied in the energy theme, few CSIR labs have facilitated sustainable start-ups to promote CSIR technologies relevant to agri-bio-nutritech, specialty chemicals, aerospace and healthcare, the statement said. of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
