Ahmedabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s “Ravan” remark to Prime Minister Modi reflects the “entire Congress leadership” mindset. Speaking at a press conference here ahead of the first phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections on December 1, Singh said that the people of Gujarat will give an appropriate response to those who use insults to the Prime Minister who, he claimed, is Gujarat’s “honor and respect”. proud”. Responding to BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said, “BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh are misleading throughout the episode. Newspapers fully reported what Congress Chief Kharge said. He should read it and then comment.”

Addressing a public rally in Ahemdabad in Gujarat, newly elected Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge compared Prime Minister Modi to ‘Ravan’ as he said “he is visible in every election.” “Modi ji is the prime minister. He leaves his job and continues to campaign in municipal elections, MLA elections, parliament elections. All the time he talks about himself – ‘Look at no one, vote after seeing Modi’. How many times see your face? How many shapes do you have? Does he have 100 faces like Ravana?” Kharge said.

The BJP called Kharge’s comments an insult to the people of Gujarat. “The kind of words that the congress chairman uses for the prime minister reflect the mindset of the entire congress leadership and not just Kharge,” Singh said.

The BJP veteran said that the post of prime minister is an institution. “The post of the Prime Minister is not just a person, it is an institution. I am confident that the people of Gujarat will give an appropriate response to those who had used insults to the Prime Minister, who is the honor and pride of Gujarat Singh added.

When asked about BJP leaders who used the word ‘Mauni Baba’ for former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the BJP leader said it is not a swear word. “Mauni Baba is not a swear word (gaali). Someone had used the words ‘Ravan’ and ‘Neech’ (for PM). We never indulge in such things,” he added.
