Rahul Gandhi’s Comments To Sangh, Savarkar Is His Frustration With Failure In Politics: RSS Leader

Varanasi: Indresh Kumar, the leader of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which condemns Rahul Gandhi’s statement against Savarkar and Sangh, said on Saturday that the Congress MP is known for his statements of fact and that it is a form of frustration over failure in the politics.

Speaking to ANI, Kumar said: “Rahul Gandhi’s statement about Savarkar and RSS is full of lies. It has become a Congress fashion to make false accusations against RSS and Savarkar. Savarkar was a freedom fighter and the British had him under life imprisonment. Rahul Gandhi must stop lying.”

“Congress had divided the country. Nehru was the one who supported the British in the partition of India. They are actually the Nehru family, not the Gandhi family. Rahul Gandhi is known for speaking the facts. This is a form of frustration at Rahul Gandhi’s failure in politics,” the congress leader added.

Rahul Gandhi, who heads Bharat Jodo Yatra of the congress, said at a meeting in Karnataka that Savarkar used to work for the British in the freedom struggle and that he was paid for it. The Congress MP went on to claim that RSS also supported the British Raj.

Gandhi interacted with the masses as the Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed Saturday from Mayasandra, Tumakuru in Karnataka, saying the party believes in fighting those who spread hatred.

The Congress leader also joked about the opposition, saying: “I’ve always stood for a certain idea that bothers the BJP and RSS. Thousands of millions of dollars in media money and energy have been spent shaping me in a way that untrue and wrong. It will remain that way, because that machine is financially rich and well oiled.”

According to the Congress, the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is being held to combat the divisive politics of the BJP-led Center and to raise awareness among the people of the country about the dangers of economic inequalities, social polarization and political centralization.

The yatra is in his Karnataka leg and today marked its 31st day.

Notably, all party MPs, leaders and workers, along with Rahul Gandhi, are staying in containers. Sleeping beds, toilets and air conditioners have also been installed in some containers. During the trip, the temperature and the environment will differ in many areas.

Congress suffered a debacle in the election polls held earlier this year, and the Yatra is seen as an attempt to rally the party’s grassroots support for the upcoming election campaign.
