‘Ram Mandir Construction in Ayodhya at Full Speed…’: PM Narendra Modi in Ujjain

Ujjain: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that the large Ram temple in Ayodhya, whose foundation stone was laid in August 2020, is under construction at full speed.

Ram Lalla’s darshan for devotees is likely to open in December 2023, and construction work on the Pilgrimage Facilitation Centre, other utilities and infrastructure services in the complex is moving rapidly.

According to the current estimate, the total construction cost of the temple and complex will be about Rs 1800 crore.

“Construction of the great Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya is proceeding at full speed. Vishwanath Dham in Kashi adds pride to Indian culture. Record development is taking place at Somnath, Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines,” Prime Minister Modi said at the inauguration of Shri Mahakal Lok in Ujjain.

On August 5, 2020, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Ram Temple and construction work on the temple has continued since then.

The foundation stone for the construction of Ram Temple`s `Garbha Griha` or the temple’s sanctum sanctorum was laid in June this year by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The five-judge Constitution Court of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi (now retired) had unanimously ruled on 9 November 2019 that the land in Ayodhya where Babri Masjid once stood belongs to Ram Lalla.

At the inauguration of Shri Mahakal Lok in Ujjain, the Prime Minister said Mahakaleshwar’s glory had been restored.

“We are restoring the glory of spiritual places. Ujjain is the center of India’s spiritual ethos. Ujjain is not only the geographic center of India, but also the center of the soul of the country. There is nothing ordinary in the company of Lord Shiva. Everything is supernatural and extraordinary. Unforgettable, incredible,” he said.

Noting that Mahalkal Lok’s grandeur is unparalleled and will boost the country’s global cultural significance, Prime Minister Modi said the development of Jyotirlingas is driving India’s spiritual consciousness.

“Mahalkal Lok’s grandeur is unparalleled and this will boost the country’s global cultural significance,” he said.

The prime minister said that Ujjain has been in charge of wealth and knowledge in India for thousands of years.

“Spirituality is contained in every particle and divine energy is conveyed in every corner of Ujjain. Ujjain has guided India’s prosperity, knowledge, dignity and literature for thousands of years,” Prime Minister Modi said at the inauguration of Shri Mahakal Lok in Ujjain.

PM Modi dedicated Shri Mahakal Lok in Madhya Pradesh`s Ujjain to the nation. The total cost of Phase I of the project is approximately Rs 850 crore.

PM said Mahalkal Lok’s grandeur is unmatched and that it will boost the country’s global cultural significance, adding that several centers of spirituality are now being renovated.

“During the Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal, we broke the shackles of colonialism with the spirit of Panch Pran. Today, cultural destinations across India are seeing a general development. For the first time, Char Dham is being connected with all-weather roads,” he said.

The Prime Minister said for the first time since independence that roads are being developed and an “all-weather highway development project” is being undertaken to connect all four Dhams under the Char Dham project.

“The magnificence of our ancient Konark Temple, Modhera Temple, Brahma Deveshwar Temple and Shankaracharya Temple is unmatchable,” he said.

He said that for India dharm means the completion of our duties and that our duties are service to the world, service to humanity.
