Two Arunachal youths have been missing for more than 2 months near the Chinese border


Two Arunachal Pradesh youths from Anjaw district have not returned home since August this year after searching for medicinal plants near the state border with China. Rike Kamsi, Chief Inspector of Police (SP) of Anjaw District, told ANI by phone that both youths Bateilum Tikro (33) and Bayingso Manyu (31) had left for Chaglagam in Anjaw District along the Indo-China border on August 19. Members of their families filed missing persons complaints with the local police station on Oct. 9.

In July this year, a worker died and 18 others went missing near the India-China border in Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh. The workers involved in road construction in Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh. In another case, a 17-year-old boy Miram Tarom of Zido in Arunachal Pradesh was reportedly captured by China’s PLA over the Line of Actual Control in January 2022. He was later sent back to India after the Indian army contacted the Chinese army to get the youth back.
