Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking video, a 50-year-old man portraying Lord Hanuman in a Ramlila on stage during his performance in Salempur village in the Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh died in yet another abrupt and unexpected tragedy. Ram Swaroop, dressed as Hanuman, suffered a heart attack during his performance on Saturday night. According to an IANS report, Ram Swaroop’s wife, Anusuiya and other family members were present when the incident took place. “He leaves behind his wife and two-year-old daughter Roopa,” he said. Village chief Gulab said that Ram Swaroop transported a cart to support himself. The family performed the final rituals of the body on Sunday evening without informing the police.

The station’s officer, Dhata, Praveen Kumar said he had noticed the incident and that a police team would visit the village to investigate the matter. “During Ramlila’s presentation, shortly after Hanuman’s tail was set on fire, Ram Swaroop, who played the character, fell to the floor and died within a minute. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead,” an official said.
