Watch: Mohammed Shami returns to bowling after recovering from COVID-19

Senior Indian speedster Mohammed Shami has resumed training. He shared a video on his Instagram handle on Saturday in which he was spotted in the nets at his farm.

Shami was expected to play the T20 series against Australia but tested positive for Covid 19 and missed the entire series.

He also missed the ongoing T20 series against South Africa as he had not recovered from the virus. The 32-year-old pacer has been added to the traveling reserves in the Indian team for the upcoming ICC World Cup T20.

The right-footed sailor from Bengal was last seen in action at Old Trafford on July 17. Before he leaves for Australia, there is a chance that he will play South Africa in the ODI series of three games. Shami made his T20 debut on March 21, 2014, against Pakistan in Mirpur. He has donned the blue jersey in a total of 17 matches in the shortest format. Since Bumrah is injured, he can be included in the 15-man main squad.

The Indian team will face South Africa in the second T20I on Sunday, which will take place at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. India, who are 1-0 against South Africa in the three-match T20 International series, have a chance to seal the series by beating the visitors in the second T20I to take an unassailable 2-0 lead.
