Weather Update: IMD issues yellow alert for THESE states; forecast heavy rain in UP, Himachal – Check the forecast


New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast moderate to heavy rainfall in many states over the next five days on Tuesday (October 11, 2022). According to the latest weather report from IMD, heavy rain is likely to continue over Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema and inland Karnataka for the next 5 days over the next 2 days.

The weather forecasting agency has issued a yellow warning for the entire state of Tamil Nadu and some districts of Karnataka.

“Conditions are very likely to become favorable for the retreat of the southwest monsoon from some other parts of northwest and central India over the next 4-5 days,” IMD said.

The Met Office has forecast moderate to isolated heavy rainfall over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, East Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh today. Moderate to isolated heavy rainfall is expected in the southern and northeastern regions.

– Fairly widespread light rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunder and lightning very likely over Madhya Maharashtra & Marathwada on the 11th; Konkan & Goa at 12; Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during the 11th -15th; Rayalaseema during the 11th -13th & 15th; north Inland Karnataka on 11 & 12; southern interior Karnataka on 11, 12 and 15; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 13 & 14 and Kerala & Mahe on 15 October 2022.

– Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls, most likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Bihar on October 11-12, 2022.

– Isolated very heavy rainfall very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on October 11, 2022.

– Fairly widespread light rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall and thunder/lightning very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya & Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 11 & 12 October 2022. Isolated very heavy rainfall likely over Arunachal Pradesh & southern Assam & Meghalaya on October 11, 2022.

– Fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunder/lightning likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, East Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on October 11, 2022.

– Isolated extremely heavy rainfall occurred over Arunachal Pradesh.

– Isolated very heavy rainfall will occur over Assam & Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, East Madhya Pradesh.

– Heavy rainfall is likely to fall across Punjab, West Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
